Greetings from the Government of Alberta: Member Estefania Cortes-Vargas, MLA for Strathcona-Sherwood Park

Keynote Address: Hasina Juma
Level Up Your GSA Game! Learn how you can amplify the impact of your school’s GSA by catering to the needs of LGBTQ2+ people of colour, a group that is just now gaining visibility in society and in the LGBTQ2+ community. Drawing from Hasina’s advocacy work and her lived experience as bisexual person of colour, she will share concrete principles that can be used by students, educators and parents. Hasina will also share her journey of how she boldly embraced her bisexuality as a Canadian born individual who grew up in Sherwood Park, a hamlet outside of Edmonton, as a Muslim with family roots in Africa/South Asia.

*Note: there will be smudging in the gym at the front stage, those with allergies are advised not to sit in the first 20 rows. Please contact organizers for any concerns: albertaGSAnetwork@gmail.com
